Please excuse my abscence…I got wrapped up learning this whole WordPress thing.

A couple of ebooks have gotten me real curious about starting a blog with WordPress so I decided to give it a try. Although the authors of those above mentioned ebooks strogly suggest you download the WordPress software and uopload it to your own c-panel hosting,I went for the “out of the box” free hosted blog…like I said this was just to test it out.

Right off the bat,the available templates are very professional looking. I can see why some more experienced marketers diss Blogger blogs(the one you’re on now is a Blogger blog). The templates include more up to date designs like the three-layered style with two sidebars off to the right I’ve been seeing lately.

The best thing about using WprdPress so far are the widgets. Widgets are all those different gadgets you usually see in the sidebars of many blogs and web2.0 sites that basically allow visitors to interact directly with your site. Widgets also make controlling your site design,rotating your ads, and keeping in touch with your readers a cinch.

There seems to be hundreds of widgets available that perform all types of functions,many of which are necessary in order to compete with other sites in this web2.0 era. The only thing is you have to download most of the widgets into a zip file and then upload to your site -which means it’s definitely better to have your own hosting account to upload it to. I haven’t come across a way to get the other cool widgets on the site in my free hosted WordPress account.

WordPress even allows you to import everything from our other blogs on other blogging systems to your WordPress blog so of course I had to give it a try. I uploaded all the losts from this site and within less than a minute it was done. Take a look at the results and comment what you think:

I’m even thinking about changing the URL name from NetrepreneursBlog.com to maybe MarketSecrets.biz or MarketSecrets.net
I’m still learning this WordPress thing so don’t crucify me for my child-like approach to this. This is my normal way of doing things…to implememnt as I learn instead of immense weeks of studying leading all the way up to NO action!
