How to Show Your Emotions Online

Listen with webreader

Have you ever wondered how those wierd little smiley faces appear in some people’s comments on the web? Well, they are called “emoticons” and are used to display (drum roll please!) your emotions at that given moment! It’s actually pretty easy to make them show up especially if you are commenting/publishing on a wordpress powered blog. What follows below is a little list I found at the HummingBunny blog of what you need to type after you’ve typed in your comment or post on a WorPress powered blog:

All right!!!! Everyone knows that a smiley face is a colon then a right parentheses. :)
A wink is a semi-colon and right parentheses. ;)

A frown is a colon and a left parentheses. :(

A colon and capitol P is this. :P

A colon and capitol D is this. :D

Laughing is colon then lol then colon.

Puzzled is a colon then question mark. :?

Open mouthed is colon then lower case o. :o

Googly eyed is an eight then capitol O. 8O

Rolling eyes is colon then roll then colon.

Blushing is colon then oops then colon.

Lightbulb is colon then idea then colon.

Red eyes is colon then twisted then colon.

Crying is colon then cry then colon.

No smile is colon then vertical line. :|

Sunglasses is an eight then right parentheses. 8)

Green guy is colon then mrgreen then colon.

Scowling is colon then x. :x

Exclamation is colon then ! then colon. :!:

Question is colon then ? then colon. :?:

At this same spot there are even simple codes for displaying your favorite colors…..

But me being the WordPress plugin junkie that I am, soon you all will have the ability to add emoticons to the comments you make here with just the push of a button, but until then simply use the codes above here and for any other WordPress blog you happen to visit and don’t forget to spread the knowledge using the punchcards below!

    @How to save marriage,
Although I can see that your site is fairly new, I would suggest you add a multi-columned footer and an image for the header to make it more appealing.

There are some pretty good themes available nowadays especially the one called Twenty Ten that you may want to try out. It is extremely customizable especially for adding widgets to the footer..

..If there’s anything I can help you with simply reach me through my Contact Form ;)
