In efforts to fulfill my word on 3 Basic Principles Of Internet Marketing lets explore another extremely effective way for getting traffic to your site. We’ve already discussed the benefits of article marketing and how you get links pointing back to your site from the places in which your articles get published in. These back links are the strongest factors that major search engines such as Google use to push your particular website listing up to the top ten first page results – which is where you want to be because the average searcher/surfer rarely clicks on anything past the first page results.
So of course this other method has to perform in a similar fashion. And what is this other method: Commenting on blogs with the same areas of interests as your site.
You ever notice nowadays most sites have some type of application that allows you to leave feedback? This is important to the owner so he/she can know what their readers interests are and then appropriately address them;thus,building a consistent relationship. It also forms new business connections and ideas. People like to be heard and they tend to respond to that which responds back to them. This is the essence of Social Marketing.
Leaving thoughtful comments on other blogs in a similar niche as yours is most effective if three conditions exist:
- The blog you’re commenting on allows you to enter your own url/link…
- The blog you intend to comment on already has high search engine ranking itself and…
- If search engines actually follow and read the comments you leave…
Fortunately, a list of blogs in accordance to their rankings has already been compiled as well as a list of blogs using do-follow tags meaning they actually have technological commands instructing the search engines to read your comments and pass along some of the PageRank from where you commented to the link you left whicxh boosts you even higher within Google. Utilize these two lists and you will start getting back links which equates to targeted traffic. Not only that, but other commenters will notice your comments and physically click on your url/link giving you even more traffic :)
Now I almost forgot the best part about using commenting as a marketing tool: it’s 100% absolutely FREE!

Yes, it’s free, but does take time. Still, it’s an investment in your website, and if you’re not prepared to spend the time promoting your content, you’re going to find it hard to build traffic. I highly recommend this technique because not only do you get a bunch of links from it, but you also get the chance to network with the bloggers who run those sites – it’s a win-win.

I am compiling a list of “do follow” blogs in these days and have gathered a lot of them. Actually I need an opinion on using some softwares available to find do follow blogs. I have read about comment kahuna somewhere but I am not sure that if I should use it to find blogs. May be there is a possibility that all searched blogs from such a utility are being spammed a lot with comments.

Yes, unfortunately due to the fluid nature of different bloggers adding and removing dofollow links on their sites, it’s hard to keep these kind of lists and tools current, even with the best of intentions. I rely partly on users of the tool to report no-longer-dofollow sites.

Although we have long lists and blogs with “do follow” attribute but we should follow some ethics. On another blog, I have to quote someone in reply and I have to do it by saying “Big Di**”. I think we should do it in a way that webmasters and other persons shouldn’t be embarrassed.

If you are building traffic commenting on blogs with appropriate comments not just high I stopped by type will work.
On an active blog leave a comment today and it will be indexed on Google the next day in most cases.

One good place to look for related blogs to your own: Google’s blog search tool. I overlooked it for a long time, even though its so obvious.
Search for a topic, select recent items only, and then spend an hour commenting. Payoff vs time spent = large.
